General Description

Position is expected to be an integral part of the operations of each store in their territory, primarily focused on front end merchandising and sales but also by providing support and assisting in daily activities of the pharmacy when in the store. Day to day duties to include identifying, establishing, and nurturing business relationships with vendors, buyers, and local healthcare professionals. Foster and encourage a healthy relationship with staff from store to store, and encourage store-to-store relationships. Must be able to create cost-efficient merchandise orders for stores. Research new product opportunities to stock in our stores on a regular basis. Must regularly travel to stores for delivery of merchandise and maintain a schedule for maintenance of front-end displays and identification of aging stock for promotion/discount. Literacy with entire Microsoft Office 365 suite of programs, and other professional software, is a necessity. Must be able to generate accurate reports on sales and inventory for all stores on demand and on a regular basis to monitor merchandise progress. Excellent organizational skills a must.  Receive and scan incoming product. Ensure pricing in POS is accurate and up to date. Maintain, inventory and organize back stock. Actively work with merchandising and marketing staff from Pierce Pharmacy Management to prepare for sales and promotions and be a resource for other staff members regarding the same. Arrange store-to-store transfers, special orders and out-of-stock item reorders. Be able to identify dead stock, create clearance displays, and help with strategies for liquidation. Consistently complete all assignments in a timely manner and maintain applicable paperwork and records. Must be able to provide exceptional customer service and be a productive team member. Able to greet customers in store with a smile and answer phone within 3 rings. Assist in the opening and closing of retail locations, to include but not limited to, dusting, cleaning and organizing. Able to price, arrange and display signs and products in creative and attractive displays to help promotion. Assist with coordinating, packing and organizing patient deliveries. Communicate in a friendly, patient and professional manner at all times. Answer routine questions/issues and properly assess customers’ needs to refer them to product and/or services. Properly direct customer inquiries, when unable to assist, to the appropriate party (i.e. Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician). Walk patient to products and communicate appropriately regarding such. Open and close POS system to include, but is not limited to, counting money, separating charge slips, vouchers, coupons. Able to balance cash drawer and create deposits. Receive and process all payments according to standard procedures as set forth by the company.  Able to lift climb/bend/stoop, lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.   Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workplace for co-workers and customers. Communicate professionally, in both oral and written form, with vendors, healthcare professionals, customers and other staff members. Able to work independently and with a team in various settings. Must be able to adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment. Present a professional image via proper hygiene and grooming, as well as adherence to company dress code.  Be on time for all shifts, returning from breaks, observe and avoid overtime. Always treat fellow team members with respect. Must be flexible and responsive to perform these and other duties, as assigned.

Work Experience Requirements

1-2 years retail and/or merchandising experience preferred. Must project a professional image and possess excellent communication skills.

Must be at least 25 years of age and be able to produce a clean MVR.

Education Requirements

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
